GUIDED TOURS

Individual Tours 2009

At the Chapel Down Winery Guided Tours of the Vineyard and Winery run daily (June to Sept) and weekends only in May and October and last for approximately an hour and a quarter. We usually have 3 tours available each day, however please call us on tel: 01580 766111 to confirm availability before your visit as tour times are subject to change.

During the tour your experienced guide will explain about the history of English Wine, the methods we use in the vineyards and the reasons for the grapes we choose to grow. The tour continues in the Winery where you will learn about the processes behind the production of our still and sparkling wines.

To complete the experience all Guided Tours include a tasting of a selection of our award winning-wines. (Apple Juice is offered to children under 18 and drivers). Although visitors are invited to wander around our vineyards, grounds and herb garden unaccompanied, access to the Chapel Down Winery is by Guided Tour ONLY.

Group Tours 2009

We welcome group tours all year round at the Chapel Down Winery (min 10 people) BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT at a group rate of £6.50 per person and are able to organise joint itineraries with other local attractions including Smallhythe Place (NT), The Kent and East Sussex Railway and Godinton House and Gardens. The itinerary will be the same as for the individual guided tours described above. If you would like to extend your tour we can offer an extended wine tasting session or a cheese and wine tasting after the tour. Gift Experiences 2010

If you would like to treat yourself or a loved one to a truly memorable day out at the home of English wines there are gift experience packages available.
Arrive at midday for a 2-course lunch from a selected menu in our new restaurant 'Richard Phillips at Chapel Down', which will be accompanied by a glass of our own English wine.
After a leisurely lunch there will be time to explore the vineyards before being met by your guide and escorted to the vineyards where the cycle of the vine growing year will be explained to you. The tour will then move into our state of the art winery where your guide will lead you through the winemaking process from press right through to bottling line. Finally you will return to the shop for a tasting of a selection of our award winning red, white and sparkling wines.
After the tour you are free to explore the herb garden or browse in the wine and fine food store. You can then have coffee in the restaurant or on the terrace overlooking the beautiful Kent countryside. To complete your day each gift experience will also include a voucher for £10.00 to spend on wine purchases in the shop before you leave.
